Oh, and the myth that POCs aren’t the audience for sci-fi/fantasy books and serials?

Let’s talk about how many teenagers at my job I’ve jokingly told, “you are WAY too young to be reading that” when catching them with ASOIAF books.

The amount of POC guys I know who watch SPN? Along with A Game of Thrones. 

Let’s talk about the amount of girls I overhear talking about TVD.

Oh, and Teen Wolf, which I gently tease them about watching before joining in on the conversation.

The teenagers who all watch Community and TBBT and understand the references.

I hear all of this at work on Saturdays, and I work exclusively with POC teens. They’re into this shit. They’d probably be even more into it if you gave them a show about Jamie Reyes.

Just saying.
