“In the recent year, I’ve had to start using a wheelchair. What helped me deal with that was Barbra Gordon. I thought, “Oh god, what am I going to do?” and Barbra immediately came to mind. “I’ll just be as awesome as her, of course!”“

Batgirl Tonner Doll

Oh, she’s gorgeous! Though, I do love the one I have… the vintage costume rocks.

After Mission By SONIA04

// Finally catching up on my single issues now that I’ve been done with ADWD for awhile…//

  • Words cannot describe how much I enjoy Ultimate Spiderman. Did Miles seriously just get to meet the Avengers in his third week on the job? UGH. LOVE IT. (Also, now I get the whole ‘Hawkeye is hot’ thing. I’ve never seen his Ultimate self.) Also, “You’re talking to girls now!” was freaking priceless. Those two. <3
  • Animal Man is easily my fave of the reboot. Hands down. Congrats on mixing my love of the grotesque and the father/child dynamic so perfectly.
  • I’ll probably be dropping Green Arrow soon. (pissed that that’s continuing whereas Static Shock which was SO much better is cancelled…) The only thing keeping me there is my love for Ollie and the fact that he essentially has his own Black Oracle girl. Like… this chick might as well be Max? How many times can you reinvent this character, DC?
  • Um, is this Avengers/X-Men thing something I need to be reading? I only read two Marvel books right now— and I’m pretty far behind on Heroes/Villains For Hire. Thanks to DC, my wallet can’t afford anymore (their insidious plan worked).
  • Aquaman! He’s cool now! Except is it bad that my favorite parts of that book are just him and Mera being cute? Or being awkward around humans? Or being adorbs with kids?
  • I’m still only half liking BoP. I love that Ivy’s with them now, but as a whole, I’m not entirely feeling the book. I’m giving it until the end of the storyline, which is essentially what I’m doing with Batgirl as well. I would hate to drop two of the three books I buy staring women, but once again, my wallet can’t be just buying shit I’m not enjoying. And that’s $6 of “meh” right there. I still have to read #5 of Batgirl though.
  • Am I a bad person for enjoying Catwoman more than both of the aforementioned books? Oh well. ‘Cause I’m enjoying Catwoman.
  • In non-single issue news: I bought the new TPB for Fables and, because Patrick made me and because it was on sale  for $7 at Midtown, I have the first TPB for Morning Glories, so I’ll plow thought both of those within the next few weeks! Somewhere there’s also an Iron Fist TPB I need to read too. Whoops. And, lolz, I need to finish X-Factor. I, uh, should get back to my roots and read more Marvel in general. It’s sad… between my dad and I we have every Amazing Spider-Man issue from about 1964/5-2010… when I stopped reading ASM. Because Marvel started publishing it way too often. I broke the collection >.>
  • Anyway. Gonna go read Catwoman and Batgirl now :D
