A Darker Nerd Harlem

// Flight.//

That movie was superb.

The 500 different ways to yell, “Get it, Denzel!” at the screen were even better. Especially when combined with 100 different ways of saying, “My man!”

Bonus Black People Comment (TM): “Now, ya’ll know you can’t be addicted to no alcohol! What’s this BS?”

Bonus Disturbing Thought: The older Denzel gets the more he starts resembling my dad.

The screening of Flight I was going to go to with a work buddy tonight was cancelled! But I decided that’s okay, because it means that I get to go see it on a Sunday morning for $6.

In Harlem.

A Denzel movie.

This is going to be SO much fun.

EDIT: Yaaaaaay, it’s playing at 10am this Sunday. This means I get up to go write at 7:30, do that for 2 hours, and then head down to the theatre. Woo!

Also, like… will they release a version of Flight that I can see without the crazy plane crash footage?

Can they do that for me, so that I don’t mind getting on a plane again in the near future?

Trailer: Flight - Nov. 2

Directed by Robert Zemeckis, written by John Gatins, starring Denzel Washington, John Goodman, Don Cheadle, James Badge Dale, Melissa Leo, and Bruce Greenwood.

Much like the action within, this seems to have come out of nowhere and has shot up my anticipation list. As far as trailers go today has been 3 for 3, and, though this is going to be an unpopular opinion, I may be more impressed with this one than with ‘Django’.

Okay, so I’m glad Denzel has decided to finally stop making the same movie over and over again…

…But this has Oscar bait written all over it.

Single Black Female addicted to retail, and well...
